WHAT?!
Lydia and Wickham?! How could she do something like this. Such a man. She is so naive and dumb to marry him! H e is a liar and a cheat and will treat her poorly. Why settle for less Lydia? You are just desperate to find a man but Wickham is not the best choice. He should not even be a choice at all. I can not say I am happy for you when all I feel is disappointment.

I do not understand why you are so surprised. Lydia has always been irrational. You cannot judge her for choosing Wickham though, because she was not informed of the kind of man he was ahead of time.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair to Lydia, she did not know of Wickham's wretchedness. She fell for him,and his charm, very much like you almost did. Women all over England should know of his gold digging. Then he will not be able to find anyone, and his punishment will have caught up to him.
